THE BENEFITS OF LIP FILLERS

Any beauty-conscious woman desires the perfect pout, and dermal lip fillers are the most popular and affordable way to achieve beautifully defined fuller lips. Lip fillers can enhance your natural beauty and dramatically impact confidence and self-esteem when performed by an experienced injector who carefully considers the look a patient wants to achieve.

LIP FILLERS CAN ENHANCE FULLNESS AND VOLUME

As we age, the border of our lips may thin, making them appear less defined. Your injector can reinforce your lip structure and the border with small amounts of lip filler, giving you a more plumped look without adding too much volume (unless more volume is also one of your goals). The Cupid’s Bow is a popular area for clients to define (the middle part of the top lip). This minor enhancement can make a significant difference in the appearance of your lips.

LIP FILLER FOR NATURAL RESULTS

Natural lip fillers may be administered over time to get optimal results. This option is especially tempting to those born with thin lips and unsure how they would appear with bigger lips. You can get the appropriate fullness of your lips over the course of many sessions.

LIP FILLERS CAN CREATE MORE SYMMETRY

If one lip is larger than the other, lip enhancement may be used to create more symmetry and thus improve your overall appearance. Your injector will discuss your treatment options with you and determine whether you need filler in only the top or bottom lip, or in one lip more than the other, to achieve your desired results. This technique for balancing out the symmetry in your lips may be all you need to achieve the perfect smile.

LIP HYDRATION WITH LIP FILLER

Injecting hyaluronic acid (dermal fillers) into the lips and skin replenishes the hyaluronic acid lost due to ageing. Some patients report that their skin feels thicker, hydrated, and more supple after treatment. Dermal filler has the same effect on the lips, and many patients notice that their lips are less chapped after treatment with Dermal filler.

LIP FILLERS CAN BALANCE OUT YOUR PROFILE

Lip enhancement can be combined with fillers in areas such as the chin, cheeks, and jawline to create a more balanced overall profile. Profile balancing involves looking at your entire face and making your lips, nose, chin, and so on proportionate. During your consultation, your injector will examine your entire face and recommend where to inject your filler to achieve your specific goals, whether the lips are the primary focus or only require a small amount of lip filler.

Lip fillers are predominantly made of hyaluronic acid, a water-binding substance — which is naturally present in the skin's extracellular matrix — provides a plumping effect at the surface of the skin. Because Hyaluronic Acid is already a biocompatible chemical, one that the skin recognises and knows, there is a minimal chance of reacting badly to hyaluronic acid fillers. When the needle is injected in to the skin, your practitioner will always 'aspirate', before placing any filler product in to the face or lips. The syringe is pulled back to see if any blood is drawn up in to the syringe. If blood is present, the practitioner knows to pull the needle out and place the needle in a different location. This is just like when you go to your GP for bloods and the nurse has difficulty drawing bloody, they will simply try again, there is no harm caused doing this, only if filler is placed in to the vein. This would cause a 'capillary oscillation', which restricts blood flow and here is where the complications happen. But Hayley is trained at advanced level with techniques to take care that client safety is her first priority.

RUSSIAN STYLE

The Russian lip is probably the most asked about lip filler style when clients come in to the treatment room.

In a nutshell, the Russian lip technique involves a series of micro injections targeted primarily at the vermillion border. The goal with the Russian lip technique is not to necessarily add overall volume to the lips, but to increase their vertical height, and to define the border of the lips.

Russian lips are a specialised lip augmentation technique that help to achieve an attractive pout without the concern of an overfilled look. This technique works to subtly shape the lips into a heart-like shape with more volume near the centre to resemble that of a Russian doll, hence the name. Russian lips create a dramatic lift to the lips and cupid’s bow without adding excess volumes to the profile of the lips – producing a natural finish without compromise on volume or lift.

It is important to note that the Russian lips technique is best practised on those new to dermal fillers as the treatment requires virgin lips (no previous filler) for the best results. If a patient does have previous product in the lip when opting for this technique, the filler must be dissolved 6-weeks prior to an appointment; traditional lip augmentation techniques place filler around the border of the lip which is not part of the Russian technique.

Ultimately, the Russian lip technique flaunts contemporary and model-like results whilst shying away from the overfilled look. This technique aims to help beautifully balance the profile whilst maintaining the perfect pout.

PARISIAN
The philtral columns are the two small ridges that run along either side of this grove up to the bottoms of the nostrils. A small amount of filler injected along the line of the philtral columns can really add definition to the top lip, enhancing the appearance of the whole face.

Parisian style gets the name from the Phil trim columns are shaped like the Eiffel Tower. Filler can be injected into the philtrum to give a more youthful appearance, but to do that, the filler is actually injected into the philtrum columns that run vertically from the base of the nose to the cupid's bow of the lip.

Your practitioner can further enhance the 'Cupid's Bow' technique by placing a tiny amount of filler into your philtrum columns as well to add further lift and support. This helps to draw attention to the shape of the top lip, making it appear lifted and voluptuous.

KEY HOLE STYLE

The keyhole pout trend was very big about 5 years ago. You may remember videos on Instagram of patients holding a string, or thin stick at the center of their lips while the injector filled the surrounding areas. The idea was to create an Angelina Jolie type lip with an obvious “keyhole” at the center.

SMOKERS LINES

Lip lines, often referred to as ‘smoker’s lines’, lip lines are small vertical lines appearing above and below the lip. They have many causes, such as sun damage, smoking, loss of collagen and elastin, gravity, loss of skin’s hydration and repeated mouth movements. As with other types of lines and wrinkles, they can worsen as the ageing process continues.
